Stargate is Pretty Cool

Howdy folks. Yet another week has passed, and I’m here again. Yay?

Anyway, update on books read, only 5 this time. I blame the fact that a few were twice as long as I usually read. But the quality was well worth it. The only sad bit is that that all but two are looking for a sequel yet to be finished. Ah well, I suppose I’ll have to wait. What else can I do? However they all left me excited for more, so there’s that.

Hmm, what else was there? Um, I watched Stargate again. The movie that is. I’ve seen it several times, as back in the day my parents had a copy on VHS, so it was one of my go to’s. As is the case with everyone, I spent a good half hour or so looking for something to watch, and nothing struck my fancy. But seeing Stargate continuously show up in different categories, it just called to me. I remember seeing it in the theater. I went there with my mother, we’d do this now and again, and it was so crowded that I think we must have found the last two seats next to each other. Front row seats. I’ve never done that before, and let me tell you my neck informed me that I would never do that again, heh. Anyway, I thought it was great, and you know what? I still do. Never mind the series that came after, SG1 is fantastic and all, but this is where it all started. Now when it starts getting towards the end there’s a ton of subtitles because they are speaking “Ancient Egyptian”, and I feel it kinda takes away from it a bit, even if I read subtitles all the time, but all in all what a wonderful film. Directed and written by Roland Emmerich, who also did Independence Day, and that Godzilla movie with Mathew Broderich. That kinda blew my mind as I felt Stargate was a much smarter film than any of his others. Now I’m not going to sit here and tell you it’s a masterpiece, but boy howdy is it a good time. Give it a watch if you’ve not before. And then binge SG1, fantastic!

Started watching BNA, Brand New Animal, on Netflix. So far it’s pretty good, but who knows if it’ll keep it up. I can already see it becoming a zany show, as the baseball episode was a bit wacky, but it’s Studio Trigger, what else should I expect. It’s about a girl, human, who suddenly finds herself transformed into a beastman, who are up until this point born that way already. They are all segregated into their own city, and she makes her way there hoping to find a cure. All the while avoiding roving gangs of anti-beastmen humans just to make it to the city. The tone bounces around from semi-serious to wacky, like I’ve mentioned, but that’s kinda what the studio is known for. I couldn’t get into Gurren Lagann after a certain point, episode 8, though I did watch a few more episodes. But I actually liked Kill La Kill quite a bit. So I’ll give this one a chance to wow me.

Else-wise I’ve been writing. Reading has helped me come up with new ideas, and I put that into practice today. I liked it, and I’ll keep it up. Of course to me this means I’ve got a bit more I can play with, and I might just go back and add a bit more to the story because of it. I’m rather excited by the notion I’ve come up with, so go me.

Anyway, that’s about all I have for this time. I hope you all have a great week.

A Movie, and More Monty Python

Howdy folks. Another week has passed, and here I am yet again. Let’s see what I’ve been up to shall we?

So, as per usual, the update on the number of books read this week. WOO, it looks like 8 books, though I think it might be nine, but the dates don’t match up for one of these books. Ah well, it was a great week for reading. I just grabbed a bunch of random books that I had been seeing in my recommended list, and just gorged. As luck would have it most of them were great, but even when they weren’t they were interesting. Yes, some of them needed a bit more editing, and one read like it was poorly translated when it wasn’t, but boy were they fun. My new habit of reading in the dark with the kindle lighting the way seems to have helped, though again it might just be I found a good selection of things to read this week. Admittedly this joy of reading might have come from the fact that this were mostly all new authors and new first books in a series(I’m a little sad that there weren’t more out yet) because I tend to get excited about new worlds. Also a couple of these books were rather shorter than usual, though there was one that was twice as long as most, so it almost evened out. Again as always, if you are interested in seeing exactly what I’m reading you can always go to my goodreads page.

What else? Um, I did watch a movie, and it was okay. I was just wandering around Netflix like I do sometimes, and saw something that looked interesting. As I was not expecting to be interrupted I started the movie. It was called Freaks. It mostly is about a little girl and her father hiding from something. He keeps saying they’ll be killed if they go out, and has to keep reassuring his kid that she shouldn’t go outside. Turns out they have powers, and the government is hunting down everyone like them. Some decent acting, even by the girl, but I found the ending to be a little anti-climatic… the very end I mean. Like the last words, didn’t seem to hold up very well to me. But otherwise interesting and creepy.

Also because I’m a huge Monty Python fan, I went back and watched the Docu-series about them that came out in 2009 called Monty Pythons’ Almost the truth. Now I’d already watched this, like I said, back around 2010 or 2011. I hadn’t really forgotten any of the ‘facts’ but the way things were explained, yeah. It’s an amusing story of the group coming together, and where they came from. I enjoyed it all over again, even if it was several hours long, heh. If you are a fan, and haven’t recently watched this, then by all means take some time to watch it… for the first time, or again.

Otherwise I did some writing. Well duh, it’s my thing. Anyway, it took a moment to really get going, but before long it was flowing. Remember, if you are having trouble one minute, or day, or week or year, just keep pushing. It’ll happen sooner or later. Maybe not for as long as you’d like, but you’ll be able to create something. And I promise you, after some time has passed you won’t be able to tell the difference between a ‘bad day’ of writing, versus the day’s where it just seems effortless. This time for me it just seemed to happen, and while there were moments of hesitation, it all came together. Now I’m up to 20 chapters, and hopefully this year(fingers crossed) I’ll have the first draft complete.

Well friends, that’s about all I have to say for now. I hope you all have a great week.

The Black Hole, and stuff

Hello. I’ve once again returned. Now to what I’ve been up to.

First to the number of books I’ve read. I know some of you don’t care about this, but I record this for myself. Mostly because this blog is somewhat of a journal for me to read in the future. So anyway, 6 books again this week. Three of which were to complete what was out for a series, it’s still not done, but so far it’s mostly good. One was a continuation of another series that just came out, I enjoyed it. And two were just random things I saw who’s titles and covers interested me. Sadly their sequels are not out yet, but I’m looking forward to them. They were tons of fun.

What else? Oh, um, heh. I had Samantha watch the Disney movie The Black Hole. She’d never seen it, and after having watched Good Bad Flick’s examination of it recently I felt the desire to see it again. A perfect Sunday afternoon movie if you ask me. Not a great movie, but really weird, and oddly funny in parts. Sure the science is all wrong (they interpreted black holes as wormholes) but it’s so strange and unusually dark in places that it’s something that I think everyone should watch. Unfortunately Maximilian was not as creepy and scary as I recalled, but then again I was much younger the last time I watched this movie. But as an odd throw back to older sci-fi movies, like Forbidden Planet, I think it’s fun to watch.

Other than that, I’ve kind of drifted away from Dofus. It was fun, but recently I’ve only been fishing and gathering resources so I can afford yet another week of play, so I can fish and get another week of playing. A cycle that makes it kind of pointless. It’s become much harder to level, and the quest lines I have take forever. Mostly running back and forth multiple times, only to learn that you have to go to yet another place. It feels like too much grinding, though that’s normal. However after reaching my goal of getting over level 100, I’ve kind of lost my drive. This unfortunate turn of emotions has led to me not getting a chance to speak with my friend who was playing with me. I’ll try to make time for him soon, but right now it’ll probably be when we play DnD again.

Now to writing. Well I’m still working. Which means the book grows ever closer to completion. Not fast of course, I’ve got a job and all, but I’m still making time for it as usual. Today’s writing session went well enough, but I’m not entirely pleased with everything, but we’ll see how I feel when I get a little distance from it. It remains true to the characters and story, but I think the wording needs a little work. I’ll go over it again once some time has passed, and who knows it may be perfectly fine. I could just be in a mood. It happens.

Well, that’s all I can think of to say this time. Sorry about that. But I do hope you all have an enjoyable week.

Movie, Anime, and Some Writing

Hello friends. Another week, another post. Let’s see what I can remember.

First off, let’s see how many books I read. Hmm, ah, it seems 6 is the number, though I’m almost done with a seventh. Decent stuff. There’s a new author in there for me, and as has been my habit since I was in middle school, I’m making my way through everything they’ve written thus far. It’s mostly good. Entertaining enough and such, but I find myself getting tired of author’s quicker when their prose isn’t as eloquent as I’ve gotten used to with some. Then again I read a lot of, hmm, how to put it, adultish books. Some of those authors happen to be the best prose writers I’ve read in recent years, while others write like teenagers with little life experience. Sigh, as long as the world is interesting I keep coming back, but like I said I’m getting a little tired of them not living up to the concepts they have created.

Well, lets see, what else. Oh yeah. I watched a movie. It’s called Knives Out. WOW. I really liked it. Murder Mystery and everything, but you know who the killer is pretty quickly. But the fun part is watching everyone trying to figure it out. Quite entertaining. And while I’ve never really liked Daniel Craig in anything else I’ve seen him in, he was fantastic and entertaining portraying a southern detective. It makes me think that the director, who did the Last Jedi, is actually good. Perhaps, like I’ve thought for awhile now, Disney interferes way too much with directors and writers making bland or unfortunate choices, leaving us with films that could have been way better.

Uh, what else? Been watching some anime, duh. I’ll just list the ones that I think are good, though I’m watching several others just to fill time while I eat after work.

My Next life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! An Isekai where a girl is reincarnated as the Villain in a game. It’s sweet and wholesome. I love it.

Ascendance of a Bookworm season 2. Another Isekai where a bookworm from Japan is reincarnated as the daughter of a guard. She just wants to read books, but in this world they are extremely expensive and hard to make, and only the nobles have them. Watch her work her way through many hardships to make her own book. I think season one was really good, but season two seems to be dragging a bit with political intrigue.

Last but not least, Tower of God. Young boy goes to another dimension to find a girl. Bloody and violent at times, with heart and sadness. Watch as he and his new friends fight their way to the top of the tower.

Other than all that, I’m back to writing. I’m all caught up with my re-read/edits, so it’s back to telling the story again. I liked what I did so far, so that’s nice. It’s like I never stopped. Heh, I hope I don’t disappoint myself later with what I’m doing. But this should be the final stretch before the book is complete… insomuch as the first draft goes. However, thinking about it a bit more, there are some things I’m going to correct back in the first part. It mostly has to do with names and stuff, so it’s nothing insurmountable to change, and the story shouldn’t be affected too much. So before I go back and do that I’ll just finish the story.

Anyway, that’s about all I have to say this time. I hope you all have a great week.

Rocketman and Some D&D

Howdy folks. I’m back for another blog post.

So let me see here. Hmm, I seem to have read 6 books since last Monday. Neat. Was a pretty good week for it I think. Nothing about them had me irritated, heh. So yeah, enjoyable reading time. Again if you care, you can always check out my goodreads page to see what I’m reading.

Well, the other thing I finally got around to doing was watching Rocketman. It was on Amazon, and while I started it last weekend, it kinda stopped streaming. So I just went back to Dofus at that point. However my place was saved, and I was able to pick of where I left off this Sunday. It was good. Had some good heart now and again, and the music, if you are into Elton John, was fun. However I don’t think it was worth all the praise heaped onto it. I’m not saying it was bad at all, but it wasn’t as great as some would have you think. That being said, the acting was very good, as was the singing. I just don’t think the musical interludes, along with dancing, did much for the story. Especially when some of the song placements didn’t feel overly relevant to the story. I’m sure others might feel different, we all experience music differently after all.

Did I do anything else? Um, just played more Dofus… OH WAIT! D&D.

That’s right, we all had another online session of Dungeons and Dragons. Oh boy, what a shambling mess. Not because of the game itself, we didn’t fight anything, but it was all Role Play, and my Tabaxi just couldn’t keep his dumb mouth shut. More ramblings about his hate for fish, and misunderstandings galore.

First, his Russian-esque accent apparently is just for show. He thinks it makes him sound more intimidating, but it’s not natural. Though I think in part it’s because he speaks so many languages and all the accents kinda get jumbled up.

Anyway, we headed back to town after defeating what looked to be a tree. The lumberjack in charge doubted that we dealt with the problem in the forest, and didn’t seem to think the pieces of shredded clothing we found, nor the giant seed we brought back was enough evidence. He said we should go to the church and have it identified by the brothers that lived there.

We asked for directions, and headed out. My tabaxi headed the wrong way, but eventually with the others guiding him back towards the correct direction we made it to the church. We were greeted by a grumpy cleric. Showing him the seed, he started panicking, and called for his brother. When he came out he was identical to the cleric, though he wore wizard robes. Together they decided to research into what apparently was an evil empowered seed.

Eventually the party grew tired of waiting on them, and interrupted their research. We were told that they would have to keep it and report to the capital that we had found what apparently was the evil remains of a horrible sorcerer. The tabaxi asked for a note so they could get their reward from the lumberjack, and for a bit of compensation from the pair at the church for keeping our seed. They agreed, and we headed back to the lumberjack.

He accepted the note, and we got our reward. Then we went back to the gnome who ran his bar. This guy sounds like Gilbert Gottfried, so it was amusing. We got a meal, and headed to bed. But not before my tabaxi put his foot in his mouth when the bartender started talking about slavers blocking the road to the nearest town that traded this one for wood. Apparently he doesn’t understand the wrongness of kidnapping people to make them slaves. EEP… especially when one of our party, the air genasi, was a slave for many years. Now she hates the tabaxi, and went to her room quickly as the conversation devolved. The rest of the party tried to explain why breaking autonomy is bad, but he didn’t get it. Everyone else went to bed at this point, so it wasn’t resolved.

Next morning we woke up, had breakfast, and eventually telling the tabaxi that the hate for slaves was like his own hate for fish he finally “Got it” though it still hasn’t really sunk in.

We got a couple more quests at this point, an escort mission to the nearest town, and to clear out the slavers. But it was getting late, so we ended for the night.

Again, as always, I’m sure I’ve forgotten stuff, but I’ll let the others fill in the details if they want.

Anyway, I’ve finished my review/edits for what I’ve already written, so by next week I’ll have done some more writing. YAY!

But that’s all I have for now. I hope you all have an enjoyable week.

Updating my Computer. Oh goody :/

Hello all you wonderful people. How are you? I mean it, are you doing alright?

As I’m sure you are all aware things have gotten a bit crazy around here recently. And by here I mean the world. 2020 sure has thrown tons of things at us, and some of us are reacting to it in ways that some might see as… hrm, too far. I’ll have no opinion personally, I just want you all to remain safe as you can.

So… let’s talk about something else. You know, something that I generally cover here. How many books have I read this week… well 7. Good number that, one for each day of the week. I had to force myself a bit with one of them, but that was not because I didn’t like the story or anything, mostly because I was feeling a bit irritated about life at that particular moment.

I think part of the reason I was feeling a bit out of sorts, besides the world going crazy, was the additional hours I worked. Well maybe not the hours themselves, but when I had to work them. It wrecks havoc on me to change from a night person to a day person… and I feel the affects for some time. I think only today am I starting to feel back to normal. But with some coffee in me, and several days of naps in between short periods of wakefulness I’m me again.

Speaking of changing things, I finally updated my computer. I had been running a version of Linux that was waaaaaaaay out of date. So much so it wasn’t able to do it’s normal updates… not for like a couple of years now. Now it’s all fresh and new, but it took me several hours over the course of a couple of days to get it back to the word-processing machine that I use it for. Oh, and of course getting it to run Dofus.

Bah, it was so easy, I just didn’t know what I needed to do. From their website you can download a Linux version. So I just figured it would run. NOPE. Well, I said to myself, I’ll just look for an answer online. Several forum posts later I figure out that maybe I should be trying to run the windows version with a WINE program called PlayOnLinux. Well that didn’t work straight out of the box, but eventually I found a work around, but it would crash after only a few minutes. Frustrated and pulling my hair out, I said to myself, why not just install all of WINE and hope for the best. YUP, worked no problem after that, so WTH?

So with that working, and playing a few hours with friends, I thought I might as well go ahead and get my old Text-to-speech program up and running. Oh dear, I can’t find it. They don’t seem to make the same GUI for the packaged voices I was using, that and I wiped everything off and forgot to remember what the program was called. So hours of searching turned up nothing much, so I just grabbed something random to see if it’d do the job. Well, it works, but it sounds even more robotic than my previous version. Long pauses between words, that yes I shortened, but it still doesn’t sound natural in the least. Oh well, it functions.

I can say that while it doesn’t sound right, the new Text-to-speech program actually helped me pinpoint a few things that I might have missed without these long draw out pauses. So that’s good right? It did so well I think after next week I’ll be back to finishing up the book. AKA writing again instead of editing. Only another 30,000 words to go, heh. Maybe I’ll hunker-down and write more instead of playing Dofus, we’ll have to see. I need some downtime from everything, and writing for me isn’t nearly as relaxing as some people think. Kinda stressful. I’m trying to make it as good as I can, and well that leads me to doubt, and doubt leads to anxiety, and anxiety leads me to want to do something else, heh. I’ll get there, no worries, but man I really don’t need any more stress in my life, and I suspect neither do you.

Anyway, that’s about all I have to say this time. I hope you all can have a great week. May everything get better for ALL OF US.

Netflix has some things, Neat.

Howdy y’all. I’m back again, though a little early for some of you.

So first of all I’ll be working Monday, in the day no less(Curse you sunlight… hiss), so I’m writing this up a day early. Unless you are reading this from my patreon page you might not have even known this as I’ll schedule it for my usual time, but I felt I should mention it.

So, have I read anything this last week? YUP. I finish 5 books since last time I checked in, and I’m pretty close to a 6th, so that’s going well. I’ve kinda held back on playing my MMORPG this last week, and well, while I could subscribe again for another week, I haven’t. Mostly because my sleep schedule is all messed up already as I prepare for a day shift. My co-players are used to us logging in at night, and since I’m not, I didn’t feel like wasting in game currency just not to play. This all means I had a few more hours to read, hence the jump back up in the number of books I completed.

Otherwise what have I been up to? Um, I watched a couple documentaries on Netflix. One about LSD, which was amusing if not informative. The other was about the final Monty Python performance back in 2014. A little heartbreaking to see Terry Jones with his forgetfulness setting in, and the fact that they were doing it so he could get some money for things he needed to pay off. However it was nice to see them all coming back together, and seeming to get along after so many years. I had felt there was a bit of a rift between some of them, but that seemed to mostly disappear. There was a ton of mutual respect flowing around. They all seemed to be having fun, even after all this time and doing the same skits, yet they all laughed and enjoyed the humor they created, and continued to create over the years.

Other than that I noted that Avatar: the Last Airbender was trending #1 on Netflix, and was happy and surprised. I love that show, and have it on DVD. I’ve watched it many times over the years, at one point because I didn’t have Internet for over a month, heh. I couldn’t help but start it up again, and I find it amusing to see so many other people discovering it after so much time since it had originally come out. So if you haven’t seen it already, or you just want to join us all watching it again, hey it’s on Netflix.

Also I’ve continued editing my mostly finished book… I mean finished relatively speaking as it sits at around 70% done, so that’s fun, heh. I’ve really enjoyed reading some of these later chapters as it’s been a minute since I had first written them and am surprised how good they sound… to me. That really helps solidify my own notions that it’s a worthwhile project, and makes me feel justified in continuing writing. It’ll be awhile I’m sure before it’s finished, as my original time-line has gone way off course because of many things, but I’m still making headway.

Anywho, that’s about all I have for you this time. I hope you all have an enjoyable week.

Watching Some Stuff

Hello all. Another week, another post.

So, what all have I been up to you ask? Well let me think. I read, obviously, though again only so many books this time. 3 to be exact, though I’m close to finishing a fourth. Most of my waking time is still dedicated to my MMORPG, and the majority of that is just me fishing. I don’t know why, but I guess I feel a bit of satisfaction leveling it.

Anyway, I did spend a bit of time watching some stuff on Amazon Prime. First I watched the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.. movie. It was alright, not great or anything, but it was good enough for what it was. I had been a bit of a fan of the two characters, and I had already watched Jay and Silent Bob strike back, which this is a continuation of that particular story. It had some funny moments, and as expected a ton of call backs. The ability to get these actors, and have them say some of these lines was amusing. I’d say give it a pass if you weren’t a fan of Strike Back.

Another thing I watched, all in one sitting mind you, was Upload. I really liked it, and I couldn’t stop watching it, though the continued anti-vaping theme grated on me. But that aside, it was an enjoyable watch. It’s all about a guy who has an accident, and instead of allowing himself to “die” gets his consciousness uploaded to a virtual retirement home. The place is a bit buggy, and you need money to do most anything. Unfortunately he’s under his girlfriend’s account and can’t do much as she’s paying. Things get a little more complicated as he starts to like his “angel” who is a customer service representative for the virtual world, and there is a mystery behind his accident. All in all I say it was a fun watch, and I would like a second season… PLEASE!

And finally, yes I’m still working on a book. I’m nearly through the edits and re-reading as I wanted to do before finishing my first draft. I know, I probably should finish it before I do any editing, but I find doing it this way relieves any kind of doubt I might have in the ending I planed, and I think it tightens the story more. So I’m going to do it anyway, might as well have a better understanding of everything I’ve written. Since I’m not just writing, I have a job, it takes me awhile to get a book done, so I find it’s kind of necessary to go through things a couple of times in case I’ve forgotten something.

Anywho, that’s all I’ve got for you this week. I hope you have a good one.

Trying to Figure out an Ending

Hello all. I’ve returned for another weekly update. Yay?

Anyway, this week I read some books. How many? Well only 3, but two of those books were as long as 3 books themselves, so there’s that, heh. Of course part of why there wasn’t more read by myself was because I’m still playing way too many hours of this dang MMORPG. I’m sure you’re tired of hearing about it, but it’s what I’ve been up to.

Otherwise I’m still going through what I’ve already written, editing before the first draft is completed. It’s what I’ve always done. Either when I feel stuck on some point, or unsure where to go with the story, I’ve generally felt going through what I’ve already written helps clear things up for me. And as I do this the world keeps moving and I generally find some inspiration in it, or in reviewing what I’ve already put to ‘paper’. As far as I can tell, and with feedback from Samantha, the book so far is readable and entertaining. I just need to figure out how I want to tell the ending. Only another thirty-thousand words or so to go, heh.

Endings are the hardest part for me. You’ve got to wrap up everything, and make sure all threads that you’ve put down come together and make sense. If there’s a series, you can tease a bit more at the end, or leave some threads behind to get your readers interested in consuming another story, but there still needs to be a satisfying conclusion for each books ending. And since this book has a bit of mystery and detective work being done, I have to double be sure to have all the clues in the book be correct. You can mislead, but it still has to be pertinent to the ultimate conclusion. This all is the difficulty I’m experiencing with getting the ending worked out for this book. But I’m getting there, and as the days go by I’m figuring it all out.

Anyway, Dofus… heh. Well, mostly I want to talk about how nice it is to have (a) friend(s) who you can talk to daily. During this time of isolation… well that’s my life most of the time, it’s really cool that I can pop on to Discord and have someone to talk with. And of course it doesn’t hurt we have an activity to work on. And fun enough, for me at least, I’ve finally gotten my new character up to the same level as the old one. And that old one took years to get there, however this time around it only took a few weeks. Crazy how working together with someone can really help you raise your levels. Dungeon running every day I have free has really helped out. And now I’m even making a little bit of in-game money by selling off all the things I make or get from completing these dungeons. Meaning I seem to be able to get enough currency to pay for my subscription, though I’ve had to borrow a bit this last time. I’ll get better though I’m sure.

Alright, I think I’ll leave off here. Otherwise I’ll just go on about this silly MMORPG until no one reads these posts anymore. I hope you all have a great week.

Distance D&D

Greetings and Salutations. Um, and hello? Another week, another post. Here we go.

So what have I been up to… uh, yeah, you probably guessed it. Reading! Well, a little of that, only 4 books, and lots and lots of hours on that MMORPG that I keep talking about, Dofus.

You see, apparently if you make enough in game currency you can trade it in for the subscription fee. Well I’m not that good at making money in-game, but my friend apparently is. He was able to gather enough to get myself and Samantha a weeks worth of subscription for us to play the full game. And let me tell you it was a good weekend to do that. Double XP for professions, which I’m apparently obsessed with. Right now I’m just fishing all over the place, and I’m the highest level fisherman in the guild… heh, apparently no one else wanted to fish. I find it relaxing… and I can feed fish to my pet cat… in-game of course. Makes him stronger, and therefore me.

Oh, yeah I edited several chapters of my book this week as well. I’m making my way back. It’s unfortunate that this whole global pandemic has set me back, but I think it has for many of us. I’m just trying to get back to normal as best I can. So I apologize for taking longer at this than I thought I would.

Not much else has been going on. Most of my attention has been taken over by online game-play. Speaking of which, we once more played a bit of D&D these weekend over the Internet. Roll20 and Discord to the rescue. It was all combat, so not much for me to talk about. Mostly my Tabaxi obsessed with killing all things fish related, and just simply fed up with everything attacking. He did suggest burning down the forest where the lumberjacks had been attacked, and simply be done with it. Odd for a druid I suppose, but in his own words, fire is a natural cleanser, and sometimes things need to be purged so life can start again fresh.

This suggestion was not met with much applause by the rest of the party, but our resident dragon man did take it under advisement while burning any monster that attacked us. Which apparently was super effective against these Blight creatures that we found inhabiting the woods.

Eventually we found the supposed source of the problem. A giant tree that apparently spewed blights after consuming whatever living creature was around it. Being the cautious bunch that we are, we attacked at range and easily defeated it, along with the two giant Blights guarding it. That being finished we of course looted the bodies, and found the remains of the poor lumberjacks that had been assumed dead before our venture into the forest.

All that was left to do was distribute the loot, and head back to town. But with the night growing rather late… 3am, heh, we all headed out before we did anything else. And thus another session of distance D&D was finished.

Anyway, that’s all I have for right now. I hope you all have a great week.
